Mental Health First Aid is an internationally recognised course which teaches you how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.

Description

Do you wonder how you would support someone having a panic attack at work?
Are you concerned about the wellbeing of the people in your organisation or community?
Are you a professional who works with people and though you aren’t a therapist, they talk to you about themselves, their lives and sometimes their mental health?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. MHFA England training won’t teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis.

As employers you have a legal responsibility to help your employees. And, it goes without saying that a happy workforce is a productive workforce, so great team and individual mental health is crucial on many levels.

This course will give you a deeper understanding of what mental health is, how poor mental health can show up, what support there is for recovery and how to start a conversation with someone you may be concerned about.

You will build the confidence to approach someone about how they are, resources to signpost people to appropriate help and make you better equipped for challenging stigma around mental health.  Plus, it will increase your knowledge about taking care of your own mental health.

This 2 day course is run by Personal Coach and Mental Health First Aid Trainer Bryony Rowntree.

“This is one of the best ever courses I’ve ever participated in and I would love the police to have this as part of their training as it’s a big insight into mental health and for people to understand that it’s ok not to be ok.”
